Club Football Jerseys: How to Choose Your Club's Shirt
For most supporters, the club shirt is the one that matters. It's the one you wear to the ground, in the pub, at the park and, if you're honest, around the house on a Saturday afternoon. Choosing one is partly emotional, of course, but there are a few practical decisions that make the difference between a shirt you wear for years and one that stays in a drawer.
Find your club
We organise club shirts by league, so start there:
- Premier League: Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Tottenham and more.
- LaLiga: Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, Real Betis and more.
- Serie A: AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus, Napoli and Roma.
- Bundesliga: Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and more.
- Ligue 1: Paris Saint-Germain, Marseille, Lyon and Monaco.
- Beyond Europe's big leagues: Liga Portugal, Eredivisie, MLS, Saudi Pro League and other leagues, including Celtic, Boca Juniors and River Plate.
Each club page shows everything we have for that club: current kits, retro shirts, long-sleeve versions and, for some clubs, shorts, kids kits and training wear.
Home, away or third?
The home shirt is the safe choice and, for many fans, the only choice. It's what the club is known for, and it won't look out of place at any match.
Away and third shirts are where it gets more interesting. They're often bolder designs, and because fewer people buy them, they stand out more in a crowd. If you already own the home shirt, an away or third kit is the natural second purchase. It's worth knowing that the "third kit" label isn't always consistent: some of our product titles say "Away (Third Kit)", which is how that design is described for that club and season.
When new kits arrive
Club seasons run from late summer through to the following spring, so a 2026/27 shirt is for the season that started in 2026. New kits usually arrive in the months before a season begins, and sometimes during it for third or special designs. Our 2026/27 collection gathers the current season's shirts in one place.
If you like to wear the current kit, the start of the season is the time to buy. If you'd rather avoid paying attention to the calendar, a home shirt from any recent season will still look right for years.
Player Edition or Fan Version?
Many current club shirts come in the slim, match-style Player Edition cut. Our Player Edition pages note these are primarily designed for display or framing. For regular wear, a relaxed-fit Fan Version is the easier choice. The measurements are side by side in our Player Edition vs Fan Version guide.
Printing a player's name
Most jerseys can be printed with a name (up to 12 characters) and a number (up to two digits), and printing is currently free. With club shirts, there's one extra thing to think about: transfers. A shirt with a current player's name is a lovely thing until that player leaves. If that would bother you, your own name, a club legend's, or no name at all will age better.
Personalised shirts are made specifically for you and can't be returned, so check the spelling and number in the preview.
Retro club shirts
If your club had a season worth remembering, there's a good chance we have the shirt. Our retro collection includes club shirts from the late 1980s onwards, such as the AC Milan 1995/96 Home Retro Jersey, the Borussia Dortmund 1996/97 Home Retro Jersey and the Boca Juniors 1999/00 Home Retro Jersey. More in our retro guide.

Frequently asked questions
What does 2026/27 mean on a club shirt?
It's the club season the shirt belongs to, which runs from 2026 into 2027.
Is the home shirt always the best choice?
It's the safest. Away and third shirts are bolder and less common, which is exactly why some fans prefer them.
Are your club shirts official merchandise?
No. FashionOwn is an independent retailer and is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any football club, league, national association or kit manufacturer. Team names, crests and marks belong to their respective owners.
Can I print any name on a club shirt?
Where the product page offers printing, yes: up to 12 characters and two digits.
