How to Style a Soccer Jersey: 7 Outfit Ideas for Women
Treat a football shirt like a bold graphic tee: let it be the one statement piece, then decide whether you want it fitted, cropped or oversized. A relaxed jersey tucked into high-waisted jeans with clean trainers is the easiest look to get right, and a cropped or women's-cut shirt works with almost anything high-waisted.
Most of getting it right is fit, so we'll start there, then go through seven outfits that work from matchday to weekend.
Pick the fit first
- Cropped: shorter in the body, made to sit at or above the waist.
- Fan Version in your usual size: a relaxed, slightly boxy fit that tucks or knots well.
- Fan Version sized up: the oversized look, for wearing as a dress or over leggings.
- Player Edition: slim and close to the body. If you're between sizes, size up.
Seven outfits that work
1. High-waisted jeans and trainers
The classic. Tuck the front of a relaxed jersey into straight or wide-leg jeans and finish with white trainers. It works with any shirt, retro or current.
2. Cropped jersey and wide-leg trousers
A cropped shirt with high-waisted wide-leg trousers or cargo pants balances the proportions and looks put together without trying.
3. Oversized jersey as a dress
Size up one or two in a Fan Version and wear it with bike shorts underneath, plus chunky trainers or ankle boots. Check the length on the product page first: our Fan Version measures 31.5in (80cm) in 3XL.
4. Jersey and a skirt
Knot a relaxed jersey at the hip and pair it with a denim or pleated midi skirt. A retro shirt in a bold colour works especially well here.
5. Layered over a long-sleeve top
A fitted long-sleeve top or turtleneck under a short-sleeve jersey is a 1990s look that also keeps you warm at an evening match.
6. Under a jacket
A jersey under an open denim jacket, a bomber or a long coat makes it everyday wear. Keep the jacket plain so the shirt does the talking.
7. Matchday with a scarf
Jersey, jeans and the team's scarf. Simple, warm, and you'll match everyone else in the stand.

Tucking, knotting and cropping
- Front tuck: tuck just the front few inches into your waistband and leave the back loose.
- Side knot: gather the hem at one hip and tie it, or use a hair tie under the fabric for a neater knot.
- Don't cut a shirt to crop it if you might ever want to frame or resell it. Choose a cropped style instead.
Getting the size right
Women's and cropped styles have their own size charts on each product page. For standard jerseys, measure a top you like flat across the chest and compare it with our charts; our soccer jersey size chart has every measurement in inches and centimetres.
Unused shirts in their original condition can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Personalised shirts can't be returned, so settle the size before adding a name.
Frequently asked questions
Should women size down in a soccer jersey?
It depends on the look you want. A standard Fan Version is relaxed, so try one size down for a closer fit. A Player Edition is already slim, so start with your usual size. A women's cut has its own chart.
Can you wear a soccer jersey as a dress?
Yes. Size up one or two in a Fan Version and wear bike shorts or leggings underneath. Check the shirt length on the product page.
What shoes go with a soccer jersey?
Clean trainers are the easy choice. Ankle boots work with a skirt or an oversized shirt.
Is a cropped jersey the same as a women's jersey?
No. A cropped jersey is cut short in the body to sit at or above the waist. A women's jersey is shaped through the body. Each has its own size chart on the product page.
