Player Edition Jerseys: What You Get, How They Fit and Who They Suit
Lay a Player Edition shirt next to a standard jersey of the same size and you can see the difference before you've tried either on. The Player Edition is narrower through the body and shorter, cut closer to the shape you see on the pitch. That's the whole point of it, and also the reason it isn't the right shirt for everyone.

What "Player Edition" means here
On FashionOwn, a Player Edition shirt says so in its title, for example Barcelona 2026/27 Away (Third Kit) Jersey – Player Edition. The label tells you about the cut: slim and match-style.
Our Player Edition product pages also note that these shirts are primarily designed for display or framing, not for everyday wear. We'd rather say that plainly than have you discover it after a few weeks of Sunday league. The fit, in numbers
"Slim fit" means little until you see the measurements. These come straight from the size charts on our product pages. Chest is measured flat across the shirt, armpit to armpit.

For comparison, our Fan Version chart lists a 54cm chest for a size L, the same as a Player Edition XXL. So if you wear a Fan Version L, a Player Edition XL (52cm) will feel slightly fitted, and an XXL matches the Fan Version's chest measurement.
One more detail from the charts: measurements can vary by 1–2cm between batches, so a size that only just fits on paper is a size too small in practice.
How to choose your size
- Measure a shirt you like. Lay it flat and measure straight across the chest. That number beats any letter size.
- Find the closest chest measurement in the Player Edition chart on the product page.
- If you land between two sizes, go up. Our fit guidance for Player Edition is consistent on this: it runs slim, so the larger size is the safer choice.
- Buying to display? Our fit guidance suggests XL or 2XL. A bigger shirt fills a frame better and shows off the name and number.
If you're still unsure, message us before ordering with your usual size and the shirt you're looking at. It's much easier to sort out beforehand than to return a shirt afterwards, especially a personalised one.
Wear it, or frame it?
We've already said our Player Edition pages describe these shirts as primarily designed for display or framing. Here's what that looks like in practice.
If you're framing it, size up as above, and think about the back before the front. A name and number turns a shirt into a keepsake, and name and number printing is currently free on jerseys that offer it. Keep a framed shirt out of direct sunlight so the colours and print don't fade, and leave it unwashed if you can.
If you're wearing it, treat it gently. The slim cut shows everything, so choose your size carefully, and follow the care notes below after every wear. For regular five-a-side, a Fan Version or a training shirt will take the punishment better.
Matching Player Edition shorts
